Seth Boynton

Seth Boynton is in his eighth year at Lincoln Industries as an Area Leader where he manages six production lines. Boynton is a Lincoln native who graduated from Lincoln East High School in 1998 where he was a three-sport athlete (football, basketball and soccer). He earned a bachelor’s degree in business in 2002 from Nebraska Wesleyan University, where he also played football. Boynton competed in his first marathon – the 2010 Chicago Marathon – as part of GOTR’s SoleMates charity running program. He hopes to inspire others to pursue an active lifestyle because he recently lost 90 pounds since taking up running in November 2009.

Kim Hachiya

Kim Hachiya has worked in communications and public relations for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for more than 20 years. A lifelong Lincolnite, Hachiya has been active in several organizations, including Leadership Lincoln and Updowntowners. She has been an “Extreme Volunteer” (meaning she’s there from start to finish) at nearly every Lincoln GOTR 5K since December 2003 and has helped out with coach kit assembly.

Ann Hagaman

Ann Hagaman has been a runner for 35 years, an elementary school teacher for 26 years and a Girls on the Run of Nebraska coach at Maxey Elementary for five years. Running has been a life-changing activity for her, and she was drawn to GOTR because she believes running is a great way to build confidence and lend support to others. She is active in church musical groups and has volunteered for the Healing Hearts Therapy Dog program.

Phyllis Larsen, President

Phyllis Larsen is a faculty member at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she teaches public relations and advertising in the College of Journalism and Mass Communications. Prior to joining the faculty, she served as UNL’s director of public relations where she worked with GOTR Neb. co-director Amy Cyphers. She has been a volunteer with Girls on the Run since 2003 and also serves on the Habitat for Humanity board as well as the board of a nonprofit organization doing community service work in Cozumel, Mexico.

Pam Lionberger, Vice President

Pam Lionberger is in her 19th year at Sandhills Publishing where she manages the production side of publishing, including press, bindery and shipping. Lionberger is an avid fitness buff who has been running or working out for 25+ years. Ten years ago she learned to swim and overcame her fear of water to compete in triatholons. She completed the Wisconsin Ironman in 2007 and competed in the Arizona Ironman in 2009. She’s since added yoga to her regimen to be kinder to her body. Lionberger was in the first “class” of GOTR-Nebraska coaches in spring 2004 and has coached so many times at Fredstrom and Randolph elementaries that even she has lost count. She is married to Luke Lionberger and they have one very spoiled Vizla.

Joyce Nelson

Lincoln native Joyce Nelson has been married for 32 years to Woody Nelson, VP of marketing at the Arbor Day Foundation. They have three children: Jared 29, who is a civil engineer for JEO; Natalie 25, who is the new Director of Education for the Lux Center; and Jeff who is 20 and studying criminal justice at SCC. She and Woody moved to Petaluma, California, in 1989 and raised their children. She was involved in Boy Scouts for their entire stint in California and saw her oldest son earn an Eagle Scout Award. She also was a Girl Scout leader for five years and learned a lot about girls and their emotional ups and downs.

The Nelsons lived in Ohio from 1998 to 2006, before returning to Lincoln. She began working at Pinnacle Bank in 2008. She and Woody are involved with their church, help care for Joyce’s parents and enjoy spending time with their friends and family.

She volunteered for GOTR this spring, and was impressed with the values of the organization, the dedication of the people who make it work and for the message it brings to young girls. In today’s society, girls face so many social pressures about their looks, the way they dress, their intelligence, and she thinks that by teaching girls at a young age that we are all different, they will in turn, become successful, responsible and caring young women.

Mimi Ramsbottom, Secretary

Mimi Ramsbottom is a physical education teacher at Skyline Elementary School in Elkhorn. Since she launched the Elkhorn GOTR movement at a single school in 2006, the program has expanded to offer spring teams at all Elkhorn public elementary schools. She is the head coach of the Elkhorn High School girls’ golf team, an avid walker, and a huge Husker fan.

Amy Struthers

Amy Struthers is an assistant professor of advertising at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she teaches promotional strategy, copywriting, and integrated marketing communication campaigns. She is the Archrival Faculty Fellow for Trend Research and is head of the Advertising Sequence. Struthers was selected as a scholar in the Advertising Educational Foundation’s Visiting Professor Program in 2006, and was posted at McCann Erickson New York. She received the college’s Outstanding Faculty Service Award in 2005.

Struthers works closely with the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services on a collaborative project to develop and implement an effective campaign encouraging high school students to be more physically active and make better food choices. Her professional experience includes a stint living and working in France as a teacher. (Oui, she speaks French!)

Cindy Terwilliger, Treasurer

Cindy Terwilliger has volunteered in some capacity for GOTR-Nebraska since she donned an awesome witch costume to hand out medals at the first Ghouls on the Run 5K in 2005. Her 5K volunteer stints eventually led to GOTR coaching, where she and a team of friends coached the Randolph Roadrunners for three seasons in a row. She works for Facts Management in Lincoln and is married to Bob, who has also volunteered at GOTR 5Ks (going so far as to wear an awesome witch/warlock costume himself).
