Registration Fees

Building confidence and setting young girls down the path of a healthy lifestyle is PRICELESS! However, there are real costs associated with operating a non-profit organization and delivering the Girls on the Run program to approximately 1,400 girls across Nebraska area each year. Regular registration costs $150 per girl. Half of all GOTR-Nebraska participants receive a reduced registration fee thanks to fundraising, grants and financial aid. Each registration includes:

  • Sixteen 75-minute meetings conducted by certified GOTR volunteer coaches
  • Curriculum materials
  • Curriculum workbook journal
  • Program keepsake
  • Official GOTR T-shirt
  • Drawstring cinch-sack
  • 5K entry
  • Personalized 5K bib
  • 5K medal
  • 5K fandana

My girl isn't a big runner; is this program for her? OR My girl is already a skilled runner. Is this program for her?

Yes! We are much more than a running program, and every participant can benefit from the experience of building confidence through accomplishment while participating in our rich, curriculum-based, age-appropriate, interactive lessons. Expect lots of games, talking, laughing and processing in addition to running at each practice. And know that when we say run, we mean run, walk, skip, roll or push, just as long as you are moving foward!

What does the program fee include?

Though our cost per particpant is $160, through generous donors and fundraising, we're able to offer the 8-week, 16-meeting season for $150 or less. Your program registration fee includes all lesson materials, including GOTR curriculum, activity sheets, lap counters and more, a GOTR T-shirt, 5K entry with personalized bib, 5K medal, 5K fandana and more.

We can't afford the program registration fee, but our child would love to participate. How does the scholarship program work?

Don't let cost stop you from participating! We are committed to making Girls on the Run accessible to all who want to participate! Thanks to generous donors and our seasonal Go the Distance fundraiser, reduced fees are available. Apply online at the link provided in the registration form.

When is programming offered?

Teams in the Lincoln-Omaha metro region and some southeast teams conduct fall programming, which runs between Sept. 3 and Nov. 5. Schedules vary by team, town and district. The Metro GOTR 5K will be Sunday, Nov. 3 in Lincoln.

NEW in fall 2024: Teams in the northern Panhandle will move to the fall season. Teams will meet between Sept. 3 and Oct. 31. The northern Panhandle GOTR 5K will be the weekend of Oct. 26/27.

Teams across Nebraska (including the southern Panhandle, southeast, northeast, southwest and central regions) conduct spring programming, which runs from mid-February to mid-May.

Do girls need to attend both days each week in order to register?

Yes! Since most of our teams fill up quickly, if your girl will be unable to attend all the sessions, please save room for a girl who can, and consider joining us in a future season when she can enjoy the entire program.

Is there a way for me to sponsor a participant for a season?

Yes! As a mission-driven 501(c)3, Girls on the Run relies on generous donors, the Go the Distance seasonal fundraiser and other events to provide more than $80,000 in financial aid each year.
